FAQ
When exactly do the reminders arrive?
One reminder a set number of days before the deadline, and another on the final day. Both the amount of warning and the time of day the notification is delivered can be changed in Settings, so it can reach you in the morning before you go out, or in the evening when you are home with the parcel.
I don't know the shop's returns policy. What do I enter?
Anything bought online, by phone or by mail order comes with a statutory 14-day cancellation right, so 14 days is a safe floor for a distance purchase. On the high street there is no legal right to return simply because you changed your mind - most retailers offer a goodwill period of 28 or 30 days, usually printed on the receipt. Whatever you enter, the date shown is an estimate based on your input; the seller's own returns policy decides what actually happens.
What happens to an item after its deadline passes?
It is not deleted. It goes grey and drops to the bottom so it stops competing for attention. It is still worth asking at the desk, as many shops stretch their goodwill period, and faulty goods are a separate matter under your statutory rights. When you are done, mark it Returned or Kept and it moves to your history.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone and nowhere else. There is no account, no login and no server behind the app. Your purchases, prices and the receipt photos you attach never leave the device and are never uploaded.
Is it a subscription?
No. Return Deadline is a one-off purchase with no monthly fee and no advertising, and you can add as many purchases as you like.
