How accurate is the remaining time?
It is an estimate to help you plan, never a guarantee. Battery age and condition, temperature, cable losses and how your inverter behaves all move the real number. Treat it as a planning figure and keep some margin.
Does the app measure anything through the phone?
No. There is no sensor, no meter and no connection to your inverter. The estimate comes from the specs you entered, the appliances you ticked and your own logged history.
Why is my estimate lower than capacity divided by watts?
Because that arithmetic overstates what a lead-acid battery gives up under a heavy draw. Backup Hours applies the Peukert relationship, and it also respects the depth of discharge you set rather than assuming you will run the bank flat.
Can I use this for equipment that must not lose power?
No. Do not rely on it for medical equipment or anything else that is life-critical. It is a planning aid for household outages, camping and off-grid setups.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. Everything runs on the iPhone, which is the point during an outage. No account, no login, nothing to reach.
