How reliable is the remaining time?
It is an estimate for planning purposes and nothing more. Battery condition, temperature, cabling losses and the behaviour of your inverter all shift the true figure, so leave yourself headroom.
Does the phone measure anything?
It does not. No sensor is involved and there is no link to the inverter. The figure comes from the specification you typed in, the appliances you ticked and the outages you have logged.
Why does it show less than capacity divided by watts?
That sum is optimistic under a heavy load. Backup Hours applies the Peukert relationship and stops at the depth of discharge you chose, instead of assuming you will drain the bank completely.
Is it suitable for kit that must never lose power?
No. Please do not rely on it for medical equipment or anything else that is life-critical. It is meant for household power cuts, caravans, boats and off-grid setups.
Will it work with no mobile signal?
Yes, which rather matters during a power cut. Everything is calculated on the iPhone and there is no account or sign-in.
