Tyre Pressure by Temp estimates what your tyres would read at today's temperature, starting from the pressure on your door placard. It is a planning aid rather than a measuring instrument — the figures are estimates, and a gauge is still what tells you your actual pressure. FAQ
Can this app measure my tyre pressure?
No. Your iPhone has no way of sensing what is inside your tyres. The app takes the target pressure you entered and estimates how the current temperature would shift that reading. To know your actual pressure you still need a gauge at the tyre.
Why do the figures differ from the usual rule of thumb?
Because those quick rules apply the temperature ratio straight to gauge pressure. Pressure ratios only hold in absolute terms, so the app converts gauge to absolute pressure first, applies the ratio, then converts back. Skipping that step overstates the change by roughly 40 per cent.
Do I need a TPMS sensor or any Bluetooth hardware?
No. There is nothing to buy, fit or pair. Everything is worked out from the placard value you type in and the temperature.
What counts as a cold tyre?
A tyre that has been parked for three hours or more and has not been driven yet — usually first thing in the morning. Driving heats the air inside and raises the reading, so pressures only compare properly when taken cold.
Which pressure should I enter as my target?
The one on the placard in your driver's door jamb (or in the owner's manual) — that figure is the authority, not the number moulded into the tyre sidewall, which is a maximum rather than a recommendation.
Where does the temperature come from, and what happens to my location?
From the Open-Meteo public forecast service. Your coordinates are rounded before the request goes out, and they are never stored on a server or shared with anyone. You can also turn location off and set the temperature by hand.
Can I set different pressures front and rear?
Yes. Each vehicle has separate front and rear targets, which matters for motorbikes, loaded trailers, caravans and plenty of cars.
Are there subscriptions or in-app purchases?
None. It is a one-off purchase and everything is included, with no ads and no account to create.
