Privacy Policy

netflowers (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the “BoatLog” app (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App. In short: the App is designed to record voyages and manage boats entirely on your device. We don't require an account, we don't collect your data on our servers, and we don't show ads or track you.

Information stored on your device

The information you create in the App — voyage records (tracks: coordinates, speed, heading, timestamps, and statistics such as distance and duration), boat information (name, type, home port, engine hours, notes), maintenance, document and fuel records, weather and sea-condition snapshots, notes, crew names, catch logs and photos you attach, and app settings — is stored only on your device (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud). We do not have access to it.

Location & third-party services

The App uses your location to automatically detect voyages and record your track. With “Always” permission, it can detect departure and begin recording even when the App is not open. Location data is stored on your device and is not sent to or stored on our servers. To provide weather, sea and coastline information, the App sends only nearby coordinates to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com, marine-api.open-meteo.com) and the OpenStreetMap Overpass API (overpass-api.de). No name, contact details or device identifiers are sent. You can change location permissions anytime in the device Settings app.

Notifications, sharing & purchases

Departure, arrival, maintenance and inspection notifications are handled as local notifications on your device — they do not go through our servers or a push service. Sharing a voyage card, exporting GPX/PDF, sending a float plan and sharing your location via Apple's Find My all happen only when you choose to do so. If you buy an optional paid feature, payment is handled by Apple's App Store; we do not receive or store your payment details.

Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. In fact, we do not collect personal information from any user. Please note that BoatLog's weather, sea and safety features are aids for your convenience and do not guarantee safety, rescue or compliance with legal deadlines — always rely on official sources for navigation safety and required inspections.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If there are significant changes, we will announce them in the App or on this page.
