FAQ
How accurate is the surface temperature?
PawWalk's readings are estimates based on weather data and surface modelling — actual asphalt temperature varies with sun exposure, shade, and pavement type. Before every walk, press the back of your hand against the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
How is my location handled?
Your location is used only to fetch the local weather forecast. It is never stored, never shared, and never used for anything else. You can also enter a location manually instead of granting location access.
Are there subscriptions or ads?
No. PawWalk is a one-time purchase. There are no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app upsells, and no account to create.
What is the rating based on?
PawWalk rates conditions using both the estimated road-surface temperature and the heat stress from air temperature and humidity, and takes whichever is more severe. The rating is then adjusted for your dog's size — stricter for small breeds that walk closer to the hot ground.
