• Can this really drive away a bear?

  We cannot guarantee it will work. This app plays wolf and dog howls with the aim of helping to drive a bear away, but effectiveness may vary depending on the individual animal, the environment, and the situation. It is not a substitute for standard safety gear such as a bear bell or bear spray — always carry those when hiking, and use this app only as a supplementary measure.

• What should I do if I encounter a bear?

  Please follow the guidance published by your local authority, forestry body, or hunting association. Playing this app does not make the situation safe. Always check official sources for guidance on what to do during an encounter.

• Will it play sound even in silent mode?

  Yes, it is set to play even when the mute switch is on. However, due to OS-level restrictions — for example, if the device volume itself is set to zero — it may not be able to play sound. Please test it once before you head out to confirm sound actually comes out.

• Why doesn't it play a bear's own call?

  Playing a bear's own call would work against the app's purpose — the same species may not react with caution, or it could even attract interest. Instead, this app plays the calls of wolves and dogs, which can act as natural predators or threats to bears.

• Are there in-app purchases or adverts?

  No. This is a one-off purchase only, with no subscriptions and no adverts. You will not be charged anything further.

• Does it work without a signal?

  Yes. Because the sound files are built into the app, it works even in places with no internet connection.
