Is WallDew a design or compliance tool?

No. WallDew is an estimation tool only, not a substitute for professional design or construction judgement. It performs a one-dimensional steady-state calculation and does not evaluate compliance with any country's building regulations or energy standard.

Does it account for thermal bridges (studs, beams, fasteners)?

No. WallDew calculates a simple one-dimensional cross-section and does not model thermal bridges — the studs, beams, and metal fasteners that penetrate a wall assembly. In practice, condensation often starts at these bridging points before it appears in the field the app calculates. Material values used are representative figures, not the measured performance of any specific product. For an actual build, please consult an architect or building professional.

How accurate is the dew point line?

The calculation follows standard steady-state heat and vapour diffusion methods and updates as soon as you change a layer. It does not model workmanship, airtightness, ventilation, or water intrusion, so treat the result as a starting estimate for your own further checking rather than a final verdict.
