StepMirror: Dance Practice

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS app StepMirror handles user information. In short: StepMirror does not collect or transmit any user information.

StepMirror does not collect, store on a server, or transmit any data, including personal information. The app makes no network connections at all: no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no data is shared with any third party. Reference videos are chosen from your Photos library or the Files app and are copied into the app's own storage so playback stays reliable; they are never uploaded or sent off the device. Recordings you make are saved only on the device and leave it only if you explicitly share them or save them to Photos yourself. The camera is used only to show and record your own image during practice, and access is requested on the Practice screen when it is actually needed, not at launch. The microphone is used only if you choose "reference plus microphone" in Settings; by default, recordings use only the reference audio. Photos access is used only to import reference videos and to save recordings you choose to keep. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of any kind. Because StepMirror collects no personal information from any user, including children under 13, it is safe for use by children. This policy was last updated on 31 August 2026.
