FAQ
How should I set up my printer for double-sided printing?
Choose two-sided printing with short-edge flipping, landscape orientation and 100% or Actual Size scaling. Turn off any fit-to-page or auto-rotate option. Print the first two sheets as a test before you run the whole book.
Which signature size should I choose?
16 pages is the usual starting point: four A4 sheets folded together, easy to pierce and sew. Drop to 8 pages for heavy or textured paper that resists folding, and go to 32 pages only with very thin stock, since a fat signature makes the inner pages creep outwards.
How do I make a book that opens on the right?
Switch the binding direction to right-to-left. SignaPrint reverses the page order and the fold logic, which is what you want for Japanese stab binding, or for books set in Arabic or Hebrew.
What happens if my page count doesn't divide evenly?
SignaPrint adds the blank pages needed to complete the last signature and shows you exactly where they fall, so you can plan endpapers or a colophon around them.
Does imposing degrade the quality of my PDF?
No. Pages are placed on the new sheets at their original resolution with their aspect ratio preserved, so text stays vector-sharp and images are not resampled.
