Questions about production rates, allowances or the totals? Email us and a person will answer. It helps to say which screen you were on and what numbers you had entered — the app keeps everything on your device, so we cannot look at your data ourselves.
FAQ
Can it produce an invoice or a formal quote?
No. Job Hours Estimator does the labour arithmetic and stops there. It has no invoice layout, no customer records and no payment tracking. You can send a plain summary of hours and cost as a message or a PDF and carry that figure into whatever you already write your paperwork in.
Does it come with a library of standard rates?
No, and that is deliberate. You create your own task templates. Published rate tables are only ever a starting point — they describe an average crew on an average day, not your tools, your site or your hands. We are not going to hand a tradesperson a number and call it correct.
Where is my data kept?
On your iPhone only. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no cloud sync and no analytics. Uninstalling the app removes the data with it, so keep a device backup if your history matters to you.
Is this a subscription?
No. One-time purchase, no monthly fee and no per-user pricing. Everything described here is included.
How are percentage allowances calculated?
They are added, not compounded. A 20% and a 10% allowance come to 30% of the work hours — not 20% and then another 10% on top. Splitting one allowance into several never inflates the total, so you can break your overhead down as finely as you like.
If I update a template, do my old jobs change?
No. Every line item stores the rate and hourly price it was built with. Improving a template as you learn affects new work only; a job you priced last month keeps the figures you gave the customer.
