Have a question about DrumHeadTune? Check the FAQ below. If you still need help, contact us by email.

Does DrumHeadTune record or save audio?

No. DrumHeadTune listens to your microphone only to measure the pitch of each strike in real time. It does not record, save, or upload any audio. Once the pitch is measured, the sound itself is discarded immediately.

Where is my data stored?

Everything you save, your drums, targets, lug counts, and tuning session history, stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, and no sync. Nothing ever leaves your device.

Why does DrumHeadTune need microphone access?

The microphone is how DrumHeadTune hears the pitch of each lug when you tap the head. Without it the app can't detect strikes at all. If you decline microphone access, tuning won't work, but you can still browse your saved drums and history.

Is the turn amount exact?

It's a close estimate, not a guarantee. DrumHeadTune converts the pitch difference into a suggested fraction of a turn based on typical tension-rod behavior, but real hardware, head thickness, and drum shells vary. Treat it as a starting point and re-check the pitch after each adjustment.

Do I need an account or subscription?

No. DrumHeadTune is a one-time purchase with no account, no subscription, and no ads. Every feature is unlocked from the start.

DrumHeadTune does not collect any personal data and does not connect to the internet. The microphone is used only to detect the pitch of each strike while you are actively tuning; audio is analyzed in memory and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere.
