Overview

A drum only sings when every lug holds the same pitch — and no ear can hear a few hertz of difference between eight tension rods. DrumHeadTune listens for you. Set your iPhone beside the drum, tap near each lug with a stick, and watch the pitch land on a circular lug map. The app names the rod to turn, the direction, and roughly how far. When the ring turns green, your head is even. TUNE - Strike detection with no buttons: hit the head, get the pitch - A lug map that moves clockwise with you around the rim - Clear advice per lug: tighten or loosen, in fractions of a turn DIAL IN - Set a target by note, by hertz, or by capturing a pitch you like - Starting-point presets for snare, toms and kick - An in-tune width you choose, from strict to relaxed KEEP YOUR SOUND - Save each session with its spread in cents - Per-drum history, so next head change starts where the last one ended - A widget that remembers your last tuning Analysis happens entirely on your device. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded. No account, no subscription — one purchase, every feature.

FAQ

Does DrumHeadTune record or save audio?

No. DrumHeadTune listens to your microphone only to measure the pitch of each strike in real time. It does not record, save, or upload any audio. Once the pitch is measured, the sound itself is discarded immediately.

Where is my data stored?

Everything you save, your drums, targets, lug counts, and tuning session history, stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, and no sync. Nothing ever leaves your device.

Why does DrumHeadTune need microphone access?

The microphone is how DrumHeadTune hears the pitch of each lug when you tap the head. Without it the app can't detect strikes at all. If you decline microphone access, tuning won't work, but you can still browse your saved drums and history.

Is the turn amount exact?

It's a close estimate, not a guarantee. DrumHeadTune converts the pitch difference into a suggested fraction of a turn based on typical tension-rod behavior, but real hardware, head thickness, and drum shells vary. Treat it as a starting point and re-check the pitch after each adjustment.

Do I need an account or subscription?

No. DrumHeadTune is a one-time purchase with no account, no subscription, and no ads. Every feature is unlocked from the start.
