How does CoilCalc measure remaining length?
CoilCalc uses the standard roll geometry formula: it calculates the number of layers from the outer diameter minus inner diameter divided by thickness, then sums the circumference of each layer. You only need to enter the outer diameter, inner diameter (core diameter), and material thickness.
Is the camera measurement accurate?
Camera measurement on iOS 17+ provides accurate diameter readings using ARKit. For best results, ensure good lighting and hold the camera steady. You can also manually enter measurements at any time.
Does CoilCalc require an internet connection?
No. CoilCalc works completely offline. All data is stored locally on your device. No account, no cloud sync, no data collection.
