BoatLog: Voyage Logbook

Push off from the dock and the logbook takes care of itself. BoatLog records every outing from the moment you leave your slip until you are tied up again, and keeps your fuel burn, engine hours and licence dates together.

Features

Leave the slip, the log starts

Save your slip or mooring and BoatLog starts recording once you are clear of it. Track, distance run, top speed, average speed and time underway. Come back in and the outing closes itself, so there is nothing to tap leaving or returning. Manual start and stop are always available if you prefer to do it yourself.

The conditions you were actually out in

Wind, air temperature, pressure, wave height and water temperature are logged the whole time you are out. Check the forecast, tides and sunrise and sunset before you leave, then look back at how the day turned. Why you headed in early stops being a memory and becomes a record.

Fuel and engine hours tell you how the boat is doing

Log a fill-up and BoatLog works out your consumption in litres and shows how it trends outing to outing. Engine hours accumulate as you run, so the oil change comes due on a number instead of a hunch. Add your inspection, insurance and radio licence dates and the app reminds you as each one approaches.

A fleet, each boat on its own books

Powerboats, sailboats, kayaks and paddleboards each keep their own log, their own fuel figures and their own service dates. Switch boats and nothing gets mixed together. Monthly and per-boat totals sit in charts whenever you want to look back, and the season totals are there when the boat goes on the trailer for winter.

Tell someone ashore when you plan to be back

Share a sail plan with your family before you leave, with where you are headed and when you expect to be back, and share your live position through Find My. If you stay in one place far longer than planned, or the outing stops looking like the one you set out on, your phone flags it. It is a prompt to notice something, not a rescue service.

Yours, and it stays on your device

No account, no cloud, no sign-up. Every outing stays on the phone in your pocket. BoatLog can also turn a track, its weather and your notes into a written account of the day, share a card of the run, export GPX for other software and produce a PDF logbook.

Just head out—your voyage logs itself.

BoatLog is a voyage logbook for boating and sailing that automatically detects when you leave the dock and records your track, speed, and weather. No fiddly setup. Cast off, and the app keeps the log for you.

Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud—your voyage data belongs to you alone.
